Going to the Western side of Lisbon, Belém. When I look outside the window ... OMG it was pouring! :-(

Right, look at the view out of my window. *sigh*

Raining elephant and dinosaur

Finally around the area ... on the bridge now. Going to that Padrão dos Descobrimentos first.

Padrão dos Descobrimentos
(Monument to the Discoveries) is located on the estuary of the Tagus river in the Belém parish of Lisbon, Portugal, where ships departed to their often unknown destinations.

The monument consists of a 52 metre-high slab of concrete, carved into the shape of the prow of a ship. It was conceived by Portuguese artists, architecht Cottinelli Telmo and sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida as a temporary beacon of the Portuguese World Fair in 1940.

Museu colecção Berardo at the other side.

Isn't it cool - even it raining.

If the weather is good today would be a great day .... :-(

Walking towards Belém Tower, but hey ... look at the map it was a few meters away in the same side of the road in front of the harbour, but there's a gap in between - can't just walk straight toward it. damn.

Belém Tower
was built in the early 16th century in the Portuguese late Gothic style. This defensive, yet elegant construction has become one of the symbols of the city, a memorial to the Portuguese power during the Age of the Great Discoveries. 1983 it was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Museum time. Went to that huge one - Museu colecção Berardo. It mainly show new art and photography, design in 20th century. some stylish stuff.

Ok after may be 2,3 hours in the museum, go on ... going to the huge chruch next to it... "Mosteiro dos Jerónimos"... to be honest, this chruch made me totally speechless. the scuplture on the ouside is proabably the most details and greatest art I've never seen in the church.

Mosteiro dos Jerónimos
is located in the Belém district of Lisbon, Portugal. This magnificent monastery can be considered one of the most prominent monuments in Lisbon and is certainly one of the most successful achievements of the Manueline style. In 1983 it was classified by the UNESCO, with nearby Torre de Belém, as a World Heritage Site.

Inside the church - golden and luxury.

Right ... nearly 3pm. the rain destoryed my mood ... go back to the area in city centre. I'm leaving to Alfama district by bus.

Alfama is a nice area in the city centre. Actually yesterday I was just at the other side but I want to go to the castle, so just visit it now.

The Santa Justa need like 6 Euro to get in, I know the top floor still need to walk up stairs anyways, so I walk at the back and walk up the hill to get to the top (wahhhahhaa)

Yay I made it. It looks like a church that destoryed there. That guy playing music there, video below:

The top of Santa Justa. I'm gotta walk up
Walk walk walk.

Night time ... look at the moon. it was really bright and big but hardly take a good one in the photo.
